We have always been huge fans of the Eurovision Song Contest, ever since we were kids. And ever since we started working together, one of our dreams has been to take part in this legendary contest with one of our songs.
With this song, we wanted to pay tribute to Luxembourg’s prestigious history in the Eurovision Song Contest, and in particular the country’s iconic victory with Serge Gainsbourg’s song “Poupée de Cire Poupée de Son”, performed by France Gall, who won the Eurovision Song Contest on March, 20th 1965, which means… exactly 60 years ago!
And we asked ourselves the question: what would “La Poupée” say today, in 2025? 60 years later, times have changed, and today’s “Poupée” definitely doesn’t need a ventriloquist who would speak for her. She wants to be the voice of a new generation, determined to make her voice and their voices heard! This is how “La Poupée Monte le Son” was born, a song that mixes pop/electro and orchestral music.
Fun fact: this song, which we also imagined as a love letter to the Eurovision Song Contest, is also, to the best of our knowledge, the first Eurovision Song Contest meta song, i.e. one that refers to a song from a previous edition of the contest.
